The City of Toronto has released its latest Street Needs Assessment. Homelessness has more than doubled since 2021, driven by a lack of affordable housing, health needs and income insecurity. The City is using this data to improve housing, shelter and support programs.

Toronto Shelter and Support Services has launched a new Harm Reduction Unit to partner with shelters and community agencies. The unit aims to reduce harm, improve health outcomes, and provide education and support for people who use substances.
