One of the Hulton family of Lancashire served in the @RoyalMarines in WW2, aboard HMS Repulse in the @RoyalNavy before being taken prisoner- he left an account of events. Here he is aboard, and the card used to records his details after capture.

We all know that St Swithin's Day sets the weather for the following 40 days! He was an early Bishop of #Winchester. This book relates to the now-ruined observatory in Williamson Park, #Lancaster with observations for this month 130 years ago. It was gloomy!. DDX 2743/MS7324
