1. 🧵 Important announcement from the Lafrowda Committee As brilliant as the 2024 Lafrowda Festival was, the bottom line is that it cost £44,000 to deliver. The Committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel the festival in 2025, to give us additional time to fundraise x

Burns night Jan 25th 7:30pm 🏴 We are happy to announce once again that we will be having our annual Burns night meal at the North Inn. Tickets are £15 a head, please ring the North Inn on 01736 788417 to book your space as it is always extremely popular.

7. In particular we are looking for people with experience of writing funding bids, running schools workshops and to help with community events, stage building, lighting and tech stuff.

6. Just as important as raising the money we need to run the Festival is our need for new Committee members to help contribute to the huge task of organising and running Lafrowda.

4 To raise this money we will organise fundraising events over the next 18 months, including music gigs, theatre, community events, art auctions and we would also like to support members of the St Just community to organise their own fundraisers for Lafrowda.

3. The year off will give the Committee time to do all we can to raise the estimated £50000 that will be needed to run the Festival in 2026

2. Just to give you an idea of why the Festival costs so much - the hire of Portaloos alone costs £1000, the hire of the stage in Market Square was £1550, PA for stages was over £1700 and Performers were £4358….
