This tweet goes out to @TerryMMayfield … May you Rest In Peace my sweet friend. The Lyme Community and the world at large lost one of the brightest lights to ever shine due to severe complications from neurological Lyme Disease. I love and miss you 💚

Please tell me I’m not the only one who regularly asks myself if I’m in the Truman Show?!

Testing accurately for Lyme disease shouldn’t be so hard to access. Out of all the things I want to change for this disease, that’s at the verrrrrrry top

Update: this tick is positive for Lyme 😳 Deep breaths I found it in my bed. It fed on either myself or my dogs. I’m so tired of ticks

Myth: ticks aren’t active until after April, but they are very much active year around. Myth: only small baby nymphs are out now (which have less risk of disease) Oh no, adults are very much active even now in March. Stay protected!

Grief is so complicated. And the suffering it delivers is so much worse than anything I could have endured with Lyme. Physical pain is livable, but mental pain can be torture. My life now is “whole” but continues to only feel empty. On autopilot, repeat repeat repeat

When I was lying in bed for a solid 8 years I never thought I’d get better, but I did. I never thought I’d escape or survive the pain, but I did. And yet, I’d do anything to turn back time and relive it all; all the horrors of this illness. Why? Because at least then I had my dad

You can say the same thing 100 times, but if the other person isn’t ready to hear it you might as well be talking to a wall. I spent years discussing Lyme being ignored by the CDC, and it’s only now (with the CDC losing public credibility) that those same people hear me 🤷🏼♀️

Grief is weird. I’m so ready to move past 2021, but at the same time I dread having to say the words, “I lost my dad LAST year.” To move further away from the moment he was last here on earth is painful every day, but so deeply highlighted tonight

I trust the CDC about as far as I can throw them considering they gaslit the country into believing Lyme disease was only present in a handful of states while full well knowing it was in all 50. So I’m gonna take their “you’re safe 5 days post covid” w the same level of “trust”

Did you know that if someone has a service dog, legally under the ADA you can only ask “what task does the animal perform” and may NOT ask the person what their medical condition is that mandates help. No one has a right to your personal health info, it’s protected. Remember that
