To fail the WASPI women is to fail all of us. That's why I won't stop fighting their corner until compensation is delivered.

Migrant care workers in Scotland have been subject to unacceptable exploitation and mistreatment. That's why I've laid a motion in the Scottish Parliament applauding UNISON's campaign supporting their fight to secure fair treatment and safer conditions.

It is disappointing that the Scottish Parliament will not progress Katy Clark's FOI Reform Bill before May. Since 2002, Scots have been gradually stripped of our right to know, shielding big business from public scrutiny. The next Parliament must deliver change.

I was pleased to meet @sascampaigns at Holyrood last week alongside @SarahBoyack. Today, 70% of sewage overflows in Scotland go unreported. The next Scottish Government must mandate complete real-time monitoring. Only then can we tackle the pollution of Scottish waters.

The 14th of February marked the Annual Dundee Commemoration of the International Brigades. Between 1936-39, 60 volunteers left Dundee to join the fight against Francoism. Today, workers and trade unionists must follow their example and unite against the rise of fascism.

Ramadan Kareem to all those celebrating across the North East of Scotland and beyond this month! The beginning of Ramadan is a time for all to show solidarity, compassion and shared humanity. Today, those values are more necessary than ever.

Healing Through Craft do essential work in Dundee, supporting highly vulnerable communities affected by poverty, complex trauma, and substance use. It was a pleasure to meet Stephanie in Parliament last week to hear about their projects.

It was a pleasure to join Eddie Dempsey and the @RMTunion for their ‘Action Against Assaults' campaign launch last week. No employee should go to work fearing they will be assaulted, abused or threatened simply for doing their job. The Scottish Government must act.

The significant reduction in teaching and support staff at the University of Aberdeen since 2023 is already detrimentally affecting workers and students. That's why I have laid a motion in the Scottish Parliament in full solidarity with Aberdeen UCU and campus unions.

This is excellent news! 🇵🇸 A welcome victory for the Palestine solidarity movement and a strike against those who seek to curb our hard won right to protest.
Breaking news: The UK government’s contentious ban on Palestine Action under anti-terror laws has been ruled unlawful in a landmark legal victory for civil liberties campaigners. https://t.co/7CzwZLX98C

"Approving projects like Rosebank will lock us into a toxic dependence on volatile fossil fuels, creating another excuse to delay the urgent investment needed to create secure, well-paid jobs for Scotland’s workers." 📰 My article for The Herald: https://t.co/xa4CfCFg6p

I have written to the Lord Advocate regarding the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal’s investigations into successive fatalities of offshore workers on the Valaris 121 jackup rig whilst in the Scottish North Sea.

Last month, @CMochan, @KatySClark and I joined UCU members outside the Scottish Parliament to oppose compulsory redundancies at the University of Dundee. Workers should never be held responsible for their employer's mismanagement. No if, no buts, no education cuts! ✊

This is excellent news. Congratulations, @MonicaLennon7! 🌍 Scotland requires a legal framework to hold big polluters accountable and the Ecocide (Scotland) Bill can provide it. https://t.co/QdRHKQPRxt
The Scottish Parliament has voted to move the Ecocide (Scotland) Bill to Stage 2. 🙌 We’re one step closer to ensuring that those who cause mass environmental destruction face the legal consequences they deserve. Grateful to the Scottish Government and MSPs for their support.

I'm proud to be supporting my friend @MonicaLennon7's Ecocide (Scotland) Bill. Monica's bill would provide a legal framework to hold big polluters accountable for their damage to our natural world. It is a critical piece of legislation for an era of environmental breakdown.

The Marinera's captain and first officer have been removed from Scottish legal jurisdiction by US forces under cover of darkness. Such actions should merit the stern protest of the Scottish Government rather than empty rhetoric.

Recent months have seen a disturbing rise in racist incidents across the North East of Scotland. That's why I've lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament in solidarity with refugees, paying tribute to the work of those ensuring that all people are welcomed to our region.
