Como No had presented both bands separately before but that opening night was a great statement of intent for new, young Latin Music in the twenty-first century. A particular festival highlight was the worldwide premiere for #CachaitoLopez, playing his ground-breaking 👇

The first festival had quite a Cuba focus with four of the five headliners from the island and reflected the huge global interest in Cuban music at the time. The exception was LA’s Ozomatli who opened the festival in a doubleheader with Orishas The Best 👇

The new appointment comes as the organisation becomes a not for profit as part of its ongoing relationship with Arts Council of England as a National Portfolio Organisation since April 2023. Andy Wood is moving to the non-executive board of the organisation.
