At the @GCSEglobal national science fair, our students won 2nd place overall, and two honorable mentions in Sustainability and Presentation Ability. We are so proud of our students and are appreciative of support of our program by @aptimglobal and @LASeaGrant.

Our program held our practice poster session yesterday afternoon. We will be presenting 13 posters at @LSUDiscover on Friday morning! Stop by and learn all about our research from this year. We are posters 105-116 in the 9-11 am session. We are extremely proud of our program!

EM spent the weekend out in Bogue Chitto state park! We learned about sediment coring, mineral ID, and native vegetation in Louisiana. It was a great weekend to be outside! #geauxnature

Project highlight: one group is studying how the survival/growth of earthworms is impacted by various soil conditions. This study will provide insight into best practices for choosing which soil to use for your home gardens. We look forward to presenting the results @LSUDiscover!

The EnvironMentors field crew explored @BRECParks Bluebonnet Swamp and the LSU lakes yesterday afternoon. We are studying how nutrient runoff affects water quality and how water quality and other site characteristics influence suitable turtle habitats in urban landscapes.
