October is #FirewoodMonth! Your choices matter. Help slow the spread of tree-killing pests. Donโ€™t move firewood, instead: ๐Ÿ”ฅ Buy firewood where youโ€™ll burn it. ๐Ÿชต Buy certified heat-treated firewood. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Gather firewood on site when permitted. More info: https://t.co/4NC9tRWeeb

Invasive species may burrow or lay eggs in firewood. When you transport wood from one region to another you're risking the spread of invasives to an area that may not have had them otherwise. Buy local firewood to ensure that new species aren't being introduced #DontMoveFirewood

We've added a fun new activity to ouroutreach - painting with soil! We gather soils locally & their different mineral compositions create different colours to paint with. A great way to teach how soils can contain native & invasive seeds. #Lillooet #LearningOutside

While I was in Lytton this week, the balsam root was flowering on low/med severity burn sites, all while cultural, controlled burning was happening on the hillsides. There is hope and change and so much good work happening. Was awesome to witness. Hands up to everyone out there.
