The Seimas is expanding its international representation with permanent delegates in Ukraine (Mindaugas Skačkauskas) and Germany (Liucija Schulte-Ebbert). This step strengthens ties with strategic partners and increases the Seimas' global visibility.

The Seimas has decided to denounce the Convention because the security situation in our region has deteriorated substantially and the military threats to Lithuania and other NATO member states bordering Russia and Belarus have increased dramatically.

The Speaker of the Seimas S. Skvernelis attended the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in the village of Macikai. Macikai is the only place in Lithuania where a Nazi prisoner-of-war camp and a Soviet GULAG camp operated one after the other.

The Seimas adopted a resolution stressing that any occupation of Ukrainian territory by the Russian Federation, which has been and continues to be carried out by the Russian Federation, will not be recognised by the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania either de jure or de facto.

The Seimas pays tribute to the victims of the Russian attacks in Ukraine. „Russia must be held accountable for these violations of international and humanitarian law", said the Speaker of the Seimas S. Skvernelis.

A minute of silence was observed at the Seimas in the presence of US Ambassador K. Mcdonald in honour of the United States military personnel who were killed in an exercise at the Pabradė training ground of General S. Žukauskas in late March.

"Democracy is not a given. You have proved that victory is possible. Sakartvelo trusts Lithuania because if we are united, we will not only save Sakartvelo, we will also save the security and integrity of Europe itself", said Sakartvelo former President S. Zourabikhvili

"Today, like Lithuania once was, we Belarusians are on the road to freedom. We are inspired by Lithuania and the courage of its people", said Sviatlana Tsianouskaya, leader of the Belarusian Democratic Forces, visiting the Seimas on the occasion of Belarus Freedom Day.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania's independence, the Seimas is visited by the Heads of the Parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, Finland and Iceland.

Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs adopted a Statement reiterating its non-recognition of the election of Lukashenka as President of Belarus and describing the sham elections in 2025 held by the Belarusian regime as a ‘presidential election spectacle.’.
