Barriers to using AI at an organisation included, public sector restrictions on apps you can use, time to upskill, resistance to change, and potentially the cost.

Lots of attendees also said they were concerned that AI was widening the digital divide for people with low digital skills, and there were concerns that people took everything gen AI created as gospel, e.g. Google's AI summaries which are often incorrect.

One attendee from a smaller organisation said that he was worried that AI was widening the gaps between the organisations that have the time to upskill and implement AI, and those that don't.

In breakout rooms, attendees told us that they were already using AI for... analysing data, ideas for funding applications, content for learning, e.g. "generate some examples of scam emails".

Caspar from @ClearCommunity emphasised that "AI" can be overwhelming as a broad idea, but introducing tools that can make life easier makes more sense to the people they support.

Stuart Jacobs from Milton Keynes CAB wowed the attendees with all the ways they are using AI tools to support people who are looking for work with job applications and even interview practice.
