10. “Don't be afraid to set boundaries with students or make mistakes because even though you are an LTA you are still learning alongside your peers and teacher.”

9. “Sit down at different tables and talk with them/help them during activities or group work. They'll be more inclined to interact with you and it helps gauge their personalities.”

8. “Make sure to review the material that is being taught in class. Even though it is all stuff you've learned before it can be hard to recall knowledge from years prior. Reviewing old notes or study guides can really give you a confidence boost in class.”

7. “Be patient! Not every student gets it super quickly so make sure to help them in a way that makes it so they feel understood and listened to.”

6. “Always be your authentic teacher self and don't try and be like any other teacher. Don't try 't and mimic your mentor teacher as students can tell when you aren't being authentic. Students will gravitate your natural personality.”

5. “Don't be afraid to reach out to your mentor when things are difficult and remember that you can learn as much from your students as they can from you.”

4. “Do shout outs! I created a google form where the students can share anything positive that they want to with the class. I believe this gives the students an outlet to express things they're intrigued in or passionate about and the opportunity to learn more about each other.”
