A big thank you as well to the @londonjesuit Centre for hosting our 25 year anniversary, and to all involved in the organisation of this memorable conference!.And a big hello to @GNRcatholics Global Network of Rainbow Catholics.

We honour especially those who first started these masses in London, who put their neck on the line publicly and who stood up to embrace their identity both as LGBT people and as Catholics.

Stay tuned as we will be posting the video talk by Timothy Radcliffe, the reply by Nicolete Burbach, and many other insights and materials!.This weekend we remember and honour in particular all those whom have made the impossible, possible.

And the way forward is to keep asking, listening and discovering:.What does God want to say to us as a Catholic Church; what does God want to say to me today; what will God want to say to us tomorrow?.

This doesn't just go both ways: it has a profound impact on the understanding of inclusion, diversity, individuality, and communion - and ultimately, on our understanding of God. Our ultimate and fundamental reference and identity comes from God.

Timothy Radcliffe said to us: "You need to help us to understand your situation in the church, and to bring your gifts to the Church". We will all learn from this process of mutual listening, and discern the way forward together #gaycatholic.

What's the way forward? We heard the words of Timothy Radcliffe, former Master of the Dominicans, underlining the importance of dialogue. We couldn't agree more and we remain committed to continuous dialogue and discernment with all our brothers and sisters in the Catholic Ch.

But nevertheless, tragically, in many parts of the world, and in this country in the UK, in families, parishes, and in daily life, LGBT+ people still encounter the cold shoulder, misunderstanding, prejudice, ignorance, and in the worst cases, murder or suicide #lgbtcatholic.

An increasing number of parishes worldwide in the Catholic Church and religious orders are seeing and reacting to the great need to welcome and care for the pastoral needs of LGBT+ people.

At that time it made big headlines, as any topics surrounding gay and lesbian people were hugely problematic for many in the Catholic Church. How far things have changed since then!.The waves that broke 25 years ago keep rolling and reverberating since then around the world 🔊.

🌈 🙏"Making the impossible, possible"."25 years ago we changed the world, slightly.".These were the words that we heard at our 25th anniversary conference, marking 25 years from the date of the first masses welcoming LGBT+ Catholics in a little convent church in Islington.
