Last night we rebranded one of our awards to honor the commitment of Coach Phelan and his family to Lakes Basketball. The Phelan Award will be presented each year to the person who best demonstrates the culture of Lakes Basketball. This years recipient is Kaylee Anderson.
Lakes Girls Basketball wins 54-50 over Cary Grove. Big win to start the 2018-2019 season. Sarah Smith with 13 pts, Kylie Jozwik with 12 pts, Mia Edwards with 7pts & 9 rebounds & Taylor Lehman & Brittany Washington with clutch free throws to seal the win.

Our Lakes Eagles have been selected as finalists for the Chicago Sky’s 2019 team of the year!! As finalists the squad will get to go to a game July 12th at 7 PM and have some pre-game accolades. Super exciting and proud of our girls!

Madison Twarling burst onto the scene to lead the Eagles in scoring this season, averaging over 12 points a game from Jan 5 on. The all-NLCC selection was the only Eagle to score over 200 points on the season!

The newly minted Inclarity Turney Defensive Player of the Year Award was fittingly awarded to Inclarity Turney for the 2nd consecutive year. Her defensive play will be honored every year when this award is presented.

Madison Twarling received 2 awards at our end of the year banquet. The senior all-NLCC selection was named Most Improved and Most Valuable by her teammates and coaches. She also was the team's all-NLCC sportsmanship recipient.

Janae Pullen ends her Lakes career as the most successful 3 point shooter in school history. Pullen drained 161 trifectas in her 3 years as an Eagle.
Although the Eagles came up short tonight, Inclarity Turney recorded her 100th assist of the season on a Madison Twarling 3 pointer. That now gives her the school record for assists in a season. This marks the 3rd school record that Turney holds. Congrats, Inclarity!

Well, we came up a bit short on points v Vernon Hills tonight. We battled every possession, kept positive body language all night, and for that I’m proud of this team. They did this all season. We did things the right way for the past four months.
