1. Increase in rates in line with inflation and in recognition of no real increase for 30 years . 2. Remunerating for cases that no one wants to conduct any longer. 2. Recognition of our work and work with us to improve general conditions at court and police stations .

The new duty solicitor rotas published today show the biggest slump in crime. Intractable numbers and particulars of the 24hour scheme since the recent low in 2022. It seems the new contracts and promise of some funds are not enough to arrest the decline . What is needed ? 1/2

We are so pleased to be involved in this Pilot to embed #ChildFirst practices in police custody suites. The aim is to decrease detention of children, increase the use of diversion and improve overall outcomes for children. This is a a king awaited and welcome initiative.
We are proud to be part of this Pilot aimed at changing the way children are treated in police custody by cutting detention rates, their time in custody, and reducing the number of charges—encouraging a #ChildFirst approach. #YouthJustice @MOPACLdn @lccsa.

Over 100 solicitors firms warn the @MoJGovUK not to take an intention to tender as a given . Without further funding and adopting the recommendations of the independent review the market shrink and tenders will be withdrawn .

Today @MoJGovUK have opened a crime tender to be submitted within 6 weeks of you want to be able to undertake legal aid crime duty work in October 2025. Meanwhile one provider with 19 duty solicitors has already said THANKS BUT NO THANKS . 1/2.
