A) Child abuse doesn't need to be a pattern. If he randomly kicked his kid in the face 1x, it's still child abuse even if he's never done it before.

Literally. I use a wheelchair. I *need* to use it. I can walk, but walking a distance greater than 10-25 feet puts me at risk of collapse. Walking more than 30 feet guarantees it.

On top of this, child abuse doesn't need to be deliberate to be abuse. Plenty of abusive parents think they're being helpful. But he refused to let her eat for almost 10 hours, ridiculed her, threatened her, & refused to teach her the lesson he claimed he wanted her to learn.
