Burlington Barracudas forward Caileigh Tiller opened the OWHL U22 season with a hat trick Saturday in a 4-3 win, including the OT winner. The UConn commit won gold at the U18s in January with Team Canada and is set to be a key returnee.

Sam Cogan with a hat trick on debut for SDE today against Djurgarden. Great to see her back and excelling immediately in Sweden. Cogan played for Toronto in the PWHL's inaugural season. She was on the Sceptres' reserve last season until Natalie Spooner returned in February.

Lindgren's older brother, Zeb, also plays for Skelleftea on the men's side. He was drafted by the New York Rangers this summer.

Ottawa Charge defender Emma Bergesen signed a short-term contract with HV71 in the SDHL. Bergesen will begin the season in Sweden before coming over to the Charge for the PWHL season. Her SDHL contract runs through September.

Jenni Hiirikoski is on Luleå’s top pairing for their season opener vs. Frölunda. Hiirikoski underwent catheter ablation on her heart this summer after a months-long illness. She played one period in Luleå’s preseason game Tuesday, which was her first game since the procedure.

15-year-old Moa Stridh makes her SDHL debut today with reigning champion Frölunda on the 2nd line against Luleå. Stridh - who is already 5-foot-11 - is one of the most exciting Swedish prospects to watch in the coming years.
