BREAKING: Walt Disney has announced it will donate more than $1 Million to relief and recovery efforts in The Bahamas following the passage of Hurricane Dorian.
After ten years in news, I anchored my last newscast tonight. Thank you to all of the editors, cameramen and my fellow reporters who I’ve been blessed to share this journey with.
Looking forward to this new chapter in life and my career.
CNN does not go easy on Trump, son.

12-yr-old Roy Seligman is making history.
The Lyford Cay School student is the first Bahamas representative in the finals of the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
He is the lone international contestant left among an elite field of 11.
Just an update: You all really got the word out and gave Mr. North’s farming business a much needed boost.
He said “They really made a 70 yr old man feel good.”
He was happy his daughter was off from work today to help him with all the orders.
Had to share. A coworker put me on to a local farmer who sells these boxes of vegetables for only $20...and he delivers.
Best 20 bucks I’ve spent in a while.

The remains of 55 hurricane Dorian victims from the island of Abaco set for burial in a public cemetery in Central Pines, Abaco.
It’s been 8 months since the killer storm wreaked havoc on the island.
Many people remain unaccounted for.
The Bahamas has been part of our family for nearly 5 decades. Our thoughts & support are with them during this difficult time. As part of our Dorian disaster relief efforts, we’re committing $1M to help them rebuild. To join the cause, please visit:
Last time I made dinner and posted on the TL American twitter raked me over the coals. One even said “the lamb chop looked like it had asthma”.
But tomorrow when I chef up this curry chicken, it’ll be somethin spectacular.
Attention! The U.S. National Hurricane Center has now stated that the Invest area in the Gulf of Mexico has strengthened to a Tropical Depression and is now forecast to move southward to the Caribbean. Jamaicans should stay alert just in case. The first name on the list is Arlene
First time walking in the studio office today since I shaved my head bald. This was the reaction of our production team.
Safe to say you gatta have thick skin around here.
Boarding this Delta flight and the lady in front of me has a bag with two puppies.
Flight attendant: What kind of dogs are they?
Lady: They’re potcakes. I found them. Taking them home with me. They’re gonna be New Yorkers now.
😑 Bahamian potcakes are really living the dream

A little bit of positive news for your timeline today. 140 students at CR Walker High being celebrated for making the honor roll with a GPA of 3.0 and higher.
Was also cool to see so many parents on hand to walk in with their children.
Found her. The pot looks a lot bigger than it is. But the bigger story is the good work they’re doing over there at First Baptist Church, feeding the less fortunate.
Story airs tomorrow on

Nearly two years after his plane crashed in waters off New Providence, Captain Byron Ferguson’s vision for a safer aviation regime in The Bahamas will be the center of discussion during the inaugural symposium held in his honor this evening at 5.
Hear me out, I was never good at basketball. But doing my Meet the Candidate feature today, I interviewed UB’s Head Basketball coach for the men’s team who tried to show me the perfect free throw.
Welp...
Random fact:
My co-worker Krystel and I did this interview with Dr. Munroe about 5 days before he passed.
Thought it was weird he insisted both of us take pictures with him as I was still a rookie reporter and was more excited to meet him.
But he insisted. Will never forget it
PM Minnis:
-14 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas
- The HOA will meet tomorrow, March 30th, to pass a resolution extending Emergency Orders to April 8th.
-All street vendors must not operate
-Gov’t introducing a food shopping schedule
-Some people have a hard head
Why give students scholarships to study to become doctors if you don’t create space for them to work within your public healthcare system? It’s really starting to look like the hunger games for that profession down here.
Speaking of BGCSEs, I remember my first job interview over at Atlantis after high school. Was so excited to tell the interviewer how smart I was passing BGCSEs from grade 11.
Lol that woman did not care. She asked how good I was at waiting and bussing tables.
Being smart is one thing.
The ability to articulate your thoughts is another.
The ability to do them both under pressure and answer pertinent questions thoroughly in a time like this is a gift we got to thank God Dr. Nikkiah Forbes has.
A book for fathers to read to their children.
A letter to tell them wherever they go, whatever they decide to do in life, they can always look over their shoulder and know that daddy is always there and daddy will always love them.

About 7 or 8 years ago I did a story on preparation for hurricane season and thought the person I interviewed was crazy for suggesting we buy inflatable rafts.
Ya know… I think I owe them an apology
Yeahhh don’t think Bubba is into the Christmas thing. Dude wouldn’t help tear open his gift, didn’t wanna play with them and got upset when I took the cardboard box away from him.
Called The Bahamas his motherland and our culture his. An icon.
Was honored to sit with him and get his story as he received his flowers from The Bahamas Int’l Film Festival in 2017.
R.I.P to one of the greatest to ever do it
@BKBMG
BREAKING: A cruise ship carrying 5 people who tested positive for COVID-19 will not be permitted to dock in The Bahamas, according to a statement by the Ministry of Transport.
If you’re a public official delivering important information during a time like this, having an attitude when asked a question doesn’t help.
If you don’t have the answer, refer the question to someone else.
People are depending on you for accurate info.
Not asking for a favor
When the Tokyo Games are all done I think a serious conversation surrounding The Bahamas Olympic Committee needs to happen.
Way too much controversy coming from such a small Olympic team, even before they left for the games.
I’ve been doing news for 6 years now. This is by far the most heartwarming story I’ve ever written.
Congrats to all who played a part in making prom night for these special needs teens possible this past Saturday.
Gatta give kudos to Dr. Nikkiah Forbes for another year of dealing with this pandemic.
Anytime you call her for an interview or information, if she can’t answer or talk right away she always gets back to you and with a pleasant attitude.
Always so very kind. Greatly appreciated
I sometimes wonder about the things we’d never know happened if it weren’t for social media.
While it definitely has its flaws, I can’t imagine what some in authority have gotten away with in the 70s or 80s without having to answer to anyone.
