Nope.... disagree, when "gate keepers" thought that they are Thano's and can snap a make someone hot, SA Hip Hop lost, when DJs thought they the main act, when we left the DJ Booth... theres a long list
@kyeezi I think SA Hip Hop died once we started ignoring the 5 elements (Lyricism, DJing, B-boying, graffiti and Historical knowledge. These elements helped the culture grow as soon the youngins disregarded this is when things declined.

@kyeezi - Sampling is part of the culture, producers still do this - dance culture is still strong, we are being represented well internationally. - DJing requires you to be innovative with how you mix songs together. We do this to this day we have technology helping us now

Thats cap, who make these rules up bro.. If a DJ represents Hip Hop must they scratch? if a dancer claims to be hip hop must they know how to break dance..? if a producer claims to be hip hop must they do boom bap??? Why must hip hop have a requirement basis?
@kyeezi If an artist claims to represent Hip Hop, they will be asked to do a freestyle. It’s culture, particularly if you claim to represent it as an artist.
