In February, our office released a preliminary report on our investigation into kids spending nights in DCBS offices. Our findings revealed: 🛑 49 kids stayed overnight in offices. 🛑 The average stay was 4 days. 🛑The longest stay spent by a child was a cumulative of 35 days.

March is National Social Worker Appreciation Month. This month, we recognize the dedication and commitment of social workers who make a difference in the lives of children across the Commonwealth. Their impact is immeasurable, and we are grateful for all they do.

During Children’s Advocacy Week, Ombud staff met with members from @KYYouth’s Birth Parent Advisory Council. This council works to provide a voice for all Kentucky birth parents. We look forward to collaborating with them in their mission to support families.
