through indepth interview, we then identified 5 main tactics that netizens used to circumvent censorship: Wordplay, visualization, decontextualization and recontextualization, throwaway accounts, and link sharing.
In this article, we first argue that Chinese censorship is a multilayered mechanism, which includes self censorship, platform censorship, and physical enforcement.
