In a bold move, my daughter has taken up the kazoo while she cleans her room. The more she cleans, the more kazoo. I can’t decide if she’s just a happy soul up there cleaning, or a brilliant mastermind who tortures us while she does chores.

In case you wondered if middle school girls like to talk, my daughter just spent 15 solid minutes explaining why her lunch table is in the *perfect* location in proximity to the trash cans, exit to recess, and extras line. Fifteen. Solid. Minutes. About a lunch table.

WhenI ask Tessa a question she doesn’t want to answer, her new response is, “I can neither confirm nor deny that, mom.” Clean your room? She can’t confirm or deny. Practice guitar? Can’t confirm or deny. Empty trash? You get the idea. It’s like living with a mini politician.
