It is about time to stop using blood flow restriction (BFR) for "everything" in clinical practice. Based on limited evidence and clinical reasoning - this is a sensible guideline for clinical use

I really thought BFR analgesia was placebo so we did a sham-controlled crossover RCT (ant knee pain) https://t.co/oyhzFuGr8J Seems like there's something "real" there, not related to sensitisation (pressure-pain was a bust) When you need "real" strengthening but can't-good option

1/9 Resistance training with varying numbers of variables (load, sets, weekly frequency) potently increases muscle strength and mass. However, the optimal approach for strength and hypertrophy is still up for debate. This is the most up-to-date research on it. Thread.

Elsevier asking for $1241 USD to reproduce this table in a "for profit" book. Just in case anyone thought publishers were in the education or health business. #OpenScienceNot "For profit" in scare quotes to be transparent. And no, we won't be using that table.

One of the (many) reasons scientific publishing is broken & not fit for purpose anymore is the review process. AI might help by "pre-reviewing" papers before sending on, at least in biomedical sciences: https://t.co/OHw0bI5NVi Pre-review your own paper prior to submission?
