@Koniodan @ShehuSani This is so true 💯, they’re very honest and love honest people as well. I served in Bauchi State, during their Fridays jumat prayers, they’ll leave their shops opened and go to prayers . They believed that whoever comes to buy goods should take it and leave their money behind.

@Koniodan He believes God will reward him multiple folds for his kindness towards you. And I'm sure he has done this many times and seen his business grow instead of decline hence the confidence. Plus it feels good to do good.

Stories like this have been told hundreds of times. It is indeed ingrained in our DNA. Unfortunately, many people have exploited that over the years to scam Hausa people, assuming we are just too careless, without realizing that what they mistake for carelessness is actually a
How do Hausa businessmen even make their profit, especially those that own provision stores? I went to buy groceries from this man’s shop, got everything I needed, and he was so friendly we even gisted a lot. I then saw a pack of 5Alive and asked for the price. When he told me,

@Koniodan I changed my car’s windscreen wiper in traffic, but at that moment my mobile app was malfunctioning. The Hausa guy told me to go and gave me his Opay details, asking me to transfer the money to him later when the app started working. Hausa people>>>>>>>>>

@Koniodan To be honest this behavior is more about Islam than about Hausa. Recently I saw some nice prayer beads at a Moroccan shop but I didn’t have my wallet. When I told the owner I’d be back for it, he asked me to take it and pay whenever I came around again. I was the one who had to

@Koniodan @OfeOgbono Yes pls and even the ones that hawk things do the same too. They can easily sell their wares at a loss. Honestly they are only Nigerians that can actually do this. They trust easily and are simple at heart. They are not greedy. Only an Hausa man will be content sleeping under the

@Koniodan This is in our nature. We are naturally trusting, warm, and relationship-oriented. We easily connect with people and choose to believe that human beings are good at heart. We see ourselves as one Nigeria, and we try to treat others the way we wish to be treated. Sometimes, this

I experienced the same thing in Yola. Even when you tell them you’ve already made the transfer, they won’t bother to check whether it has actually reflected or not.
