Australia's under-16s social media ban is crazy. eSafety officials have told Senator Matt Canavan that parents' social media accounts could be restricted if they allow their children to use their account to look at content. Leave parenting to parents, not the government.

Today it’s “protect kids from social media”. Tomorrow it will be “protect adults from misinformation”. If you give the government the power to decide who’s allowed online, you’ll never get it back.
