Very happy to see this work out in CABN! @voalan3 shows that affect is best explain as the sum of expected and actual progress (so, not the progress prediction error). Including some cool DDM modeling. Get the paper ↓.
My new paper is finally out with my wonderful mentors @KobeDesender & @anderouusberg. We show that in perceptual decisions, affect does not reflect progress prediction error but the addition of expected and actual progress:
