I’m not one to read that much into the tea leaves when it comes to SCOTUS, but on this one I think the justices might be sending a message to lower courts about 18-20 year olds being a potentially high-risk population when it comes to firearms.
#SCOTUS has granted, vacated and remanded Paris v. Lara for reconsideration in light of Rahimi. Lara is 3rd Circuit case which held that group of PA laws that operated to prevent 18-20 yr olds from carrying firearms during state of emergency violated 2A.

My new @bmj_latest article, on the relationship between firearm regulation and harm, concludes that gun control seems to save lives.
Different US states have evolved different approaches to gun control, setting up something akin to a natural experiment. @Klarevas looks at the evidence so far and says the emerging lesson is that gun control seems to save lives, says

Congratulations to @jschildkraut80 and my colleagues at @RockGunResearch on receiving this grant to do much needed and very important research on such a pressing problem.
Excited to announce that we are recipients of a $450,000 grant award from @DHSgov to study "leakage" by perpetrators of mass public shootings and develop trainings to help the public identify and report these warning signs. Read the announcement 👇.

In terms of reducing gun violence by making firearm regulation more permissive v. more restrictive, studies are finding that, in the US, the latter has fared better than the former. My latest in @bmj_latest suggests that gun control seems to save lives.
