a breathy ‘thank you’ seeped through while kissing her, not wanting to let go of her lips just yet. if only, he tried to make it deeper, cupping her cheek with his hand to keep her locked in place and closer.

“i don’t need words.” he preferred to show her. picking her up from the ground and settling on the edge of the bed with her on his lap, finding her lips at some point while they changed positions, kissing her deeply.

she’d feel his grin pressing hot on her flesh, parting his lips just to bite lazily on that area of her neck. “that’s it. if you miss me madly, i’d expect you to tell me about it with just about the same enthusiasm.”

“how. much?” his tone was demanding as he asked through his teeth. the same ones he’d use to bite on her earlobe, pulling on it lightly.

“hm?. . . how much?” in between his question, little kisses were peppered on her neck, before daring to drag his tongue over her main vein.

he trapped the vial between his fingers, rolling it in them and turning around to see her, smirking. “you miss it too, is that it? me on your neck. . .” as soon as those words leave his mouth, it finds its way to invade her space, brushing against the side of her throat.

“and i love it.” he said, almost like a purr. he bent his knees, making it easier for her to reach behind and secure the necklace. “i missed you taste.”

his lips parted at the sight, a little sigh escaping. surprise dissolving into sweetness, putting a more noticeable smile on his face. “no, it’s perfect.” he took the vial to take a better look at it, emerging before her again, still connected by the necklace. “put it on me.”

once the necklace was secured, his hands slipped past her hips, joining on the front part of her frame as his chin found a place to rest on her shoulder. “did you get me bones and oddities?”

the hint of a smile appeared on his face, accepting the piece of jewellery on his fingers. then, he’d step behind her, moving raven hair to the side before placing the necklace delicately around her neck. “i had a feeling it would suit you.”

the box was rectangular, matching tissue paper on the inside, protecting the actual gift: necklace and earrings that matched, silver with pretty rubies. “i saw it and it made me think of you, so. . .”

he followed close behind, pushing the door close with his free hand. “surprise.” going straight to the side of his bed, a drawer on the nightstand was opened, fishing a grey box from inside it. “why don’t you open it up?”

it wouldn’t take much for them to reach the upper floor, walking through the hall, door after door until atticus’ appeared. he let her in, placing a hand on her lower back to invite her into the room. “i think you’ll like it.”

she might’ve pushed him away, but atti took her hand quickly, tugging it as an invitation to follow him upstairs. “it’s in my room.”

his hand took the door handle, the one that led to the backyard, and swung it open so they could meet the creature and the vampire, the two of them going at it on the lawn, like a cat fight. “you can try.”

“the witches who did this went radio silent on me.” this time, he didn’t sound so plain. if the hunter listened well, he’d find a hint of anger in his words, perhaps even some annoyance. “well, no. i didn’t know it wasn’t going to work, but your theory sounds about right.” +
