Statistically, Nigeria has the highest number of persecuted Christians in the world. This persecution is a function of extreme islamists. Sharia (its laws and courts) should not even be considered, much less discussed. The proper response is to “shut it down!”

Hot water poured on my fingers last night. It hurt really badly so after small home remedy I placed my other hand over the affected fingers, and prayed for quick healing. Pain disappeared.

Except you’re always prophesying… Telling people not to pray in tongues because it doesn’t edify others makes no sense. And except the prayer point is communal… What’s your business with what your brother/sister is saying in prayer?

Personal edification is good. And when in the midst of God’s people, desire to be used of God to bring edification to others (through prophecy). But this isn’t even always the case. Not praying in tongues does not automatically make praying in your understanding = prophecy.

Even the “edification is knowledge” thingy fails this “every iota of self dies” test. The knowledge that edifies who gets it? Self or ‘God’s people’? Isn’t the whole made of parts? The self can be edified and God’s people can be edified. It’s not either/or. It’s is both/and.
