Last week, I also participated in a reading with artist and organizer Colette Payne. Colette’s vulnerable defense of incarcerated women and girls underscores my daily motivations as the Cook County State’s Attorney. (4/5)

Mis/disinformation campaigns are extremely harmful and crowded with targeted, racialized attacks that insidiously discourage women of color from running for office. We must call out this assault on women of color for what it is; otherwise, the propaganda wins. (2/5)

On Monday, I was honored to be invited as a special guest to the inauguration of @Brandon4Chicago. Congratulations to the new Mayor and all the elected officials who were sworn into office. I’m looking forward to working with you to unite our communities and make them safer.

Kim Gardner is an unapologetic fighter. The attacks on her role mirror the attacks we have seen on prosecutors, particularly Black women prosecutors, across the country. We have not spoken enough about what Black women have had to endure here.

“Our mere presence as women of color, as Black women in cities with large Black populations, and being the first, drew fear and trepidation among those with racist and sexist ideologies who were used to a certain power dynamic."

Our director, @RachelRMarshall, and IIP board member @KimFoxx both spoke to @theintercept about the resignation of @StLouisCityCA and the unfair and misguided attacks on reform prosecutors—and particularly on Black women. https://t.co/UMnPOSjcb1

As the first Black woman to serve as Cook County State’s Attorney, @kimfoxx has been an advocate for Chicago by disrupting the ways in which the criminal legal system preys upon poor people. Kim has been been a model for how prosecutors can work for their community #ThankYouKim
"But you want to ask me about Jussie?" Powerful clip of @KimFoxx today speaking of the people who were wrongfully convicted, & her office's work doing first ever mass exonerations. It's also a critique of our body politic's tendency to get easily distracted to say the least.
