A1 While not PD, one of our most successful moments as a community was table top conversations that included discussions on PD. We are excited to provide staff what they are seeking and feel they need based on those conversations in the year and years to come. #MLDSchat

A1. One day at a time! With my head halfway into the next school year I’m trying to make sure I’m staying present and not losing sight of the now. #MLDSchat

A3. Being restorative doesn’t mean lack of accountability. Being held accountable is part of the restoration. Including students in the outcomes. “Tell me what you think the next steps should be?” nearly always results in a student holding him/herself accountable. #MLDSchat

A2. Checking in. Not just immediately after an incident but throughout the day and days that follow. Covering a class when they need and should take time to regroup. Listening and supporting throughout all the pieces of a given situation. #MLDSchat

A1. For me restorative practices means identifying ways to repair relationships and community - which leans starting with building the relationships and community! #MLDSchat

A2 Don’t forget to apply what we know about good teaching to PD. Engagement of staff is not just “sit and get” presentations. #MLDSchat

A2 I stick to my boundaries for work and home time. If there is an emergency key people know how to reach me after hours. It’s ok to not check email into the night so I can be fully present for time with family and friends. #MLDSchat

A1 For me self care means recognizing that I have to take care of my needs, health, feelings in order to support and care for others. It’s making sure I don’t forget myself while caring for those in my care. #MLDSchat

A2 Our BLT digs into the possible whys when we look at data. They identify trends. They problem solve and disseminate information to their departments and teams. We discuss the building’s “vibe” with the intention of being aware and solution focused. #MLDSchat

A2 One data source doesn’t paint a complete picture of our school culture. We measure it by looking at formal things (academic growth, discipline referrals, etc) and informal things like, how does it feel when you walk into the building? Each classroom? #MLDSchat
