@FoodBankWMA The link goes to my page, but on that page you can also click on the Food Bank icon in the upper left to search for, and contribute to, any other individual or team, or directly to the Food Bank. - Kevin

@FoodBankWMA We have exactly $365 and, using the 1$=3meals formula, that would theoretically feed one person for one year. Not too shabby. However, if you would still like to help the Food Bank strengthen its mission and reach its own WB4F goal of $250,000, the link above is still active.

@FoodBankWMA Update!: I have reached (and surpassed) the minimum $200 mark for my participation in the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts 2024 "Will Bike 4 Food" this Sunday (9/22). I'm now taking the proverbial foot off the gas (...but not the pedals).

Yep, that's like 600 meals. Here's the link to donate: https://t.co/Ky352kC0qQ No amount is too small! Except zero. Zero would be too small. I'm signed up for the 50 mile route (a 10:15 depart from the Hatfield Lions Club pavilion) with our special edition WB4F GuysTours Team...

But, in the words of the Amazing Rhythm Aces, "I've never really done this kind of thing before...have you?" (the fundraising, that is, not the bike riding) so I'm hoping that some of you out there can pitch in a couple bucks (5, 10 ...?) toward my personal goal of raising $200.

Hey y'all! This Sunday, September 22, I'll be taking part in the 14th "Will Bike 4 Food" fundraiser for The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts -- the hard-working people who know how to turn ONE dollar into THREE meals. Incredible, but true.

(6/6) But...being retired, I didn't have to make that call (or stress about whether to shout down at him) so we saddled up and rode on.

(5/6) Clearly, a solitary man rowing down the river is not news, but a photo of that moment can be a window into the community. And that person is a real individual, not just window dressing, so we should make the effort to identify him.

(4/6) And there might be a home for that picture, even without an ID. But I tried to stress that the purpose of the paper (or news site!) isn't about being a coffee table book of pretty pictures but -- with some effort -- a place for news and community.

(3/6) For that to happen, I said, I ought to get the rower's name and town he's from, which would involve shouting down at (and disturbing) him before he got out of earshot. Henry countered, "But you can't even see his face." Right.

(2/6) Without actually checking the capture, we agreed that it might make a good stand alone for the @DailyHampGaz - had I still been working there. Henry thought I should still submit it.

Connecticut River, March 3, 2024. My son (and fellow cyclist), Henry, and I had a discussion about this photo soon after I stopped to take it from the Norwottuck Rail Trail ("MCRT") bridge on Sunday. (1/6)

This is my 93 year old father in law. Until recently was able to maintain independence on his trike. Last week the custom trike was stolen from his garage in #Wellingborough #Northamptonshire Please retweet, we'd like to get it back. Thank you 👍

Attention on the Playground: I have retired from the @DailyHampGaz! A sweet, unforgettable 27 years. A week's gone by now, so pretty sure it's not a dream. My twitter feed may take a more personal direction, like this pic from my sixth bike ride in 7 days. Much love to everyone.
