NPCs be like:.“Hero, I need you to retrieve the ancient relic of untold power… from the cave right behind me”. Sir. What do you do here? What is your job??.

Some studios build pipelines. We build friendships, rivalries, weird in-jokes, and at least one spreadsheet that’s haunted.

Community isn’t just comments and likes. It’s the weird in-jokes, the late-night theories, the NPCs you insist are secretly dating. We’re not just building a game. We’re building with you.

We asked one NPC what they wanted out of life and they said “to be released from the infinite loop of existential fetch quests.”. So anyway, you’ll find them behind the waterfall.

Just once we wanna make a game that causes someone to say, “I can’t hang out tonight, my pixelated goat wife is sick and the moon’s wrong.

Gamers will spend 300 hours unlocking a sword that glows slightly more red at night… but won’t fold the laundry that’s piling up on their wardrobe floor. We respect that energy.

Every time we test the game, someone on the team says “wait, are we the bad guys?” and honestly we’re getting a little concerned it’s not a bit anymore.
