We also encourage you to stick to walking on grass when you can and consider buying protective footwear for your pup. Suspect your pet has heat-injured paws? Reach out to your vet ASAP.

If you can't hold it comfortably for five seconds, you need to find a different time. Early morning is your best option for a safe walk during the Texas summer, but a late-night excursion will still be safer than midday or early evening.

It's officially hot enough to bake cookies on our dashboards, so it's time to talk about summer safety for TOE BEANS! Determining whether it's too hot to take your pup out for their walk takes just five seconds by placing the back of your hand against the pavement.

Monthly outdoor warning system test, or an alarm reminding folks that it’s three hours until Keller Lights? You be the judge. Either way, expect to hear the sirens blaring around 1 p.m.

On that note, please don't call 911 for fireworks when they inevitably happen anyway; if you have the address for where they're being shot off, you can let us know at the non-emergency number: 817-743-4522. Thanks in advance for keeping the emergency lines clear!

If your children get caught being awesome, they’ll earn themselves some free Slurpees to enjoy thanks to our partnership with 7-Eleven. Officer Cannon ran across some deserving kiddos today at the Keller Smithfield Activity Node. Where should we look next?! 🤔

Summer has arrived, and you know what that means: Slurpee citations! Our officers will be on the lookout for kiddos making smart, safe choices out in the community in the weeks ahead — everything from wearing their helmets to playing kindly with others.

With cloudy conditions in the area, we've decided to cancel today's test of the outdoor warning system. As a reminder, each city makes its own decision regarding siren tests. That means if you're near a border, you may still hear a neighboring community's test today.
