SOFTBALL AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR. @NAHSBlueEagles senior Alina Weaver had one of the most memorable home runs in @NazSball history, but she was hardly a one-hit wonder. We begin our all-area softball stories with the ambassador of the year.

BOB HARTMAN . He left his mark as both the Whitehall athletic director and District 11. He was accessible to me and I will never forget his kindness when me and my family had a tough battle with COVID 19 in December of 2020.

DISTRICT 11 DANDIES. A new group of 15 athletes, coaches and officials will be inducted into the @PIAADistrictXI Hall of Fame in October. Gabe Lewullis, Jim Morgans, Jonathan Linton and Marty Ondrovic are just a few of the big names who will be honored.

REMEMBERING ONE OF ALLENTOWN'S ALL-TIME BEST. Bob "Butch" Heffner was one of the greatest basketball players in @CanaryAthletics and Lehigh Valley history. But he went on to have a lengthy career as an MLB pitcher.

CALLING ALL SPORTS. On today's show, 9 to 11 on @LVFoxSports we'll remember two lost legends in local sports, Marty Ondrovic and Bob Heffner, and we'll talk with our friends from @JoshwayLV and with @TimNeiman, the now retired DeSales baseball coach.

PERKY POWER. The Perkiomen Valley Twilight League routed the @BML_Baseball Friday night 15-6, in Lansdale, as the two amateur leagues renewed their all-star game rivalry after a long break. The BML will hope for a better showing next year at Limeport.

LEHIGH VALLEY SUMMER BASKETBALL . With @kkidsbasketball beating @EEACSBasketball Thursday night, there are just 2 unbeaten teams left in the LV Summer Boys Basketball League as the season enters the stretch run.

MARTY ONDROVIC . Perhaps the best-known baseball umpire & football official the Valley has ever had died earlier this week at 92. No one loved the game more or the profession of officiating. His booming voice & one-of-a-kind personality will be missed.

MAYBE THE THIRD TIME WILL BE THE CHARM. @NAHSBlueEagles star QB Peyton Falzone had committed to Virginia Tech and then Penn State, and now, evidently, he's going to Auburn. I am just thankful we got him in the EPC one more season.

SOUTHSIDE RAILERS. The team in the @eccbl is off to a 10-0 start. It has lots of local talent and brings back memories of the Allentown Railers, who won 4 ACBL titles in 5 years in the late 2010s.
