There is a housing shortage in Ontario, but let’s be clear that MZOs or “strong mayor powers” do not override the Duty to Consult with First Nations. MSIFN has spoken out on the dangerous and short-sighted development plans in the past, (1/2) https://t.co/AMI9zxHNCd

This community still has the resilience to continue this decades-long fight for justice from willful mercury poisoning, while the threat of a nuclear waste DGR looms on the horizon.

Grizzly bears are a threatened species. Yet the UCP have just sneakily declared the grizzly bear hunt back on. MLA @ElmeligiSarah (an ACTUAL bear biologist) has been clear: killing grizzlies won’t reduce human-bear conflict. I’m angry and so are many of you. Let the UCP know.

WHY is the Alberta government allowing THREATENED grizzly bears to be hunted if they are deemed a "problem"? The Wildlife Act was changed recently WITHOUT public consultation nor legislative review by Minister Todd Loewen.

“Natural gas” caused fire near Edson, AB but there is so much pipeline infrastructure that they can’t tell if it’s from FortisAlberta, TransMountain Pipeline, Atco Gas, or AltaLink’s gas metering station.

Don't be deceived—economic reconciliation is still about resource control and corporate profiteering. Read about the industry’s latest chess move in my piece for @TheBreachMedia:

The rise of “natural gas” as a form of reconciliation is a strategy of the fossil fuel industry to maintain their grip on our energy systems and profit off Indigenous lands.

We are failing to hold global warming to 1.5 degrees. For context, the recent fossil fueled climate disasters, freak flooding, arctic “zombie fires”, “rain bombs”, are happening with just 1 degree of warming. Unless we stop expanding fossil fuels, it’s going to get a lot worse.

To those in the way back who need things mapped out visually. This is the harm that frontline communities have endured, & it's still coming: extraction expansion—a map of ongoing health battles, like high rare bile duct cancer rates in Fort Chipewyan. #WaterIsLife #climatechange

In Canada, we have a new term for fossil fueled fire weather: zombie fires. A burning under the snow in the permafrost that sparks after the melt. They’re hard to spot marking them all the more devastating. And they’ll only get worse as the climate warms. This is an emergency.
