Of course, we will be keeping a close eye on the progress of State Government over the coming months and do what we can to assist groups with taking advantage of the plan. It’s the end of a very long journey for us as we look to further improve our communities in the future! ❤️

The plan balances the need for safety with encouraging late-night trade and culture. More businesses open later mean more work and vibrancy, duh. Especially important as our economy attempts to recover from COVID-19.

The NSW Govt is announcing a plan to kickstart the 24-hr economy today. We’ve been part of group that’s been working with them for the last 8 months. The plan includes many of the policies our followers called for back in 2016 — a major win for Sydney! #nswpol #keepsydneyopen

Even with the lockouts gone, it will take time to restore Sydney’s music scene.
How can people inside and outside of the industry revitalize and reinvigorate the music and arts scene in Sydney? #QandA

The report recommends the ‘liquor freeze’ be kept in place. We will continue to fight this and fight the continuation of the lockouts in Kings Cross.

There are recommendations to create an office to oversee the night-time economy and scope out 24-hour transport on weekends. This is what KSO asked for when we first began.

The parliamentary report into lockouts recommends scrapping the 1:30am lockout and 3am last drinks everywhere except Kings Cross. It’s not over yet, but we wouldn’t be where we are without your support. Thank you! #keepsydneyopen

Major win on the festivals front with the NSW Upper House voting to disallow the ham-fisted regulations rushed through parliament earlier this year. Hopefully some of the festivals that called it quits come back stronger than ever!
