Thanks to all branch members who voted and made sure others did too. While we didn't achieve a national mandate, we showed our strength in branch and will use that energy to move forward. Hopefully this will inspire serious reflection from HQ about the handling of the MAB.

Funny that ‘local growth’ never applies to staff pay, which continues to fall in real terms. We also desperately need some ‘regeneration’ and ‘recovery’ of staff goodwill and morale.

Like many unis, @KeeleUniversity set out to break the union during the MAB. With indefinite 50% deductions they sought to deter, punish, create hardship and division. We organised wage sharing and hugely disrupted assessment. Now we are on strike all week. We will NOT be broken.

A reminder as many branches are out on strike day 2 (and some are out on day-much-more-than-that!) They fight for all of us, so we'll support all of them.
Those on strike are striking for a better sector for all of us! We will all benefit when we win better workloads, ends to casualisation and pay gaps, and improvements in pay. Waiting a few days before promoting that paper or grant is one simple way to show solidarity ✊💪 (2/2)
