Why, oh why, do battlemaps for sailing vessels in 5e not scale well? I look up "man o' war battlemap" and everything is absolutely tiny. I have found exactly 1 accurately sized ship that was also accurately labeled. Have others run into this same problem? #DnD #ttrpg

I love dropping lore bombs during downtime for my players. This downtime has been good for those because the dice gods have been kind. A nat 20 on an arcana check allowed me to write out a page and a half of lore for the party necromancer. Our next session is gonna be fun!

A close second was when the pugilist enforcer got off one of her special abilities on the party’s Minotaur paladin and threw him across an alleyway into a wall. He stands up, snorts, and says “well met” and charges back into the melee. 4/4

I think that the best part was when the Eldritch Knight realized what the final encounter was and said: “A warehouse full of Mimics? Really?” As 4 of them started to attack him all at once. In the end everybody enjoyed themselves! 3/4

It was super fun to be able to do as a DM! It let me tell a short story within the same world that I didn’t need to necessarily connect to the massive main narrative of the campaign. It also let me do some more off the wall and complicated encounters. 2/4
