So I honestly kinda think Toga is the best handled villain for that reason? Maybe Touya is second place (the whole Endeavor plotline is fucking ROCKY when it comes to how it "handles shit" in Act 3)?? Everyone else is either lackluster, assassinated, or dogshit.

YOUR worldview on to Toga on how extreme she feels about her way of life is where I feel like the discourse came from. I think that anyone who is as extreme as Toga, of which I've known IRL, would rather soak themselves with foreign blood or die for their ideals than capitulate.

It just feels like projection to say that Toga would ever take the chance to "be better" where she's already too far gone in a sense and would be completely fine with eradicating Japan for her ideals. Like, I'm not going down the terrorist rabbithole, I'm saying that projecting-

I'm going to be completely honest here, Toga dying honestly wasn't bad. I honestly don't think Toga was the type of character who at that point would be content with institutionalization. She was as extreme as Shigaraki in that regard and to believe otherwise just feels ironic.

the story feels like it's trying to gaslight you that it properly fleshed out these resolutions and that the story EARNED this outcome when it really didn't and that's honestly the most annoying aspect of it. 430 can never be good because it didn't earn the ending it had.

I like to think of Schreiber's monologue, with a bit more refining, as how I think about an ending. If what you see when you look back is a result that isn't good, then it's not really a satisfying conclusion. And Act 3 is really bad, so it sours the read even more when-
