Asking them about historical events has its own place and is a thing you should do too. But this is mostly about asking them about casual stuff. For example, my grandma told me that modern bras are WAY more uncomfortable than the ones from the 1950s. Guess what kind I wear now.

I love meeting very old people and asking them inane questions about the past. It helps to know when stuff was invented. I asked my great grandma how it like was before traffic lights were common. She slowly turned to look at me, paused for a full 5 seconds and then said “bad.”

Roll on deodorant wasn’t invented until the late 1940s and men didn’t really wear it until like the early 60s. Go ask your grandparents about that. Mine said they mostly used talc (baby powder) before that and I said did it work and she said “we thought so until the new stuff.”

@KaylaAncrum Let me put in a plug about sizing/fitting. I know so many women who wear the wrong size bra. Lots of places will do a fitting for you, Nordstrom's for instance. It's worth the cost to find the size/manufacturer of the best bra for you. It's self-care ffs.

@KaylaAncrum A customer once told me that underpants didn't have elastic during WWII so sometimes they'd fall off. This happened to her once and she just kicked them away and pretended she didn't see anything.
