Did this comp in Nuke with. Raw CG spaceships & CG FG clouds -no camera, no passes (only RGBA) due to tech issues. Had to track 2D clouds! to match a full 180° cam move and stick in 2D mountains, clouds & a moon. Chaos. but it worked 😂 CG by Miodrag! .#vfx #nuke

Want to reformat footage to higher res? But does it result in quality loss? . Try reformatting in Log space -> Reformat filter: Lanczos4 -> sharpen a bit -> convert to linear space. The difference is very subtle. But super useful. (Alternative using 'TVIScale' in Nuke)

Under the hood!. 1. Vector Generator, which generates forward (i.e., U) and Backward (i.e, V) motion by analyzing a pixel's position in 1 frame before and after its current position and multiply it. Ie u*v. 2. Then Vector blur node, which creates motion blur with the above data.

Motion blur is like salt, you don’t notice it until it’s missing. - Kavi . Rendering it in 3D? Kinda tricky, sometimes slow, or sometimes we forget to turn it on😅. But in Nuke, it’s super easy:.1. Add a Vector Generator.2. Plug in a Vector Blur (UV: motion, MB amount: 1).#vfx
