In a shocking intelligence failure, Hamas operatives have crossed the border and infiltrated several Israeli border towns. Some a few km from the border. War seems imminent.

Belief that more direct involvement in Ukraine -> higher risk of nuclear war rests on assumption that Putin sees a big difference between Ukrainians blowing up tanks with American-made Javelins and Americans blowing up tanks. Not obvious to me that this is true.
