Younger photographers and videographers in pro sports… I can’t stress enough how delicate a relationship with an athlete is. There is a clear line between professional and unprofessional. Courtside, glass, sideline, etc. you are there as a professional and not as a friend.

I’m going to brag a little bit. All of the photographers shooting for the D-Backs tonight were women. Kelsey Grant is a prime example of a woman who opens the door for others. Thankful she hired me and two other ladies to capture a fun night of images.

There’s many reasons why I do what I do, but one of the biggest reasons is because men told me I couldn’t. It gives me the fuel to keep climbing so I can open doors for the women to follow me. I told Shira that this can be her one day.

One of my favorite things about working around Gudas was seeing the kind of man he is off the ice. He often would include his kids whenever he could. They were often running around the locker room with little Gudas jerseys and I’ll miss that.
