Kashmiri Urdu .The Kashmiri isation of Urdu is a PhD waiting to happen. Some background .At a certain point in time, Kashmiris decided that they must speak in Urdu ( why ? That is separate PhD topic ) .But there was a problem.

There's a reddit thread where people are posting their NeurIPS review ratings and asking others what they think the chances of acceptance are. Reminds me of the days when people used to post their JEE scores/ranks and ask what's the chance they'd get into an IIT. 😅.

Are there any long-form podcasts on Hindi-Urdu poetry?. The only ones I've come across are usually less than 10 mins long on average and usually do not engage with the poetry at much depth beyond a simple reading of it.

As colloquial Hindi-Urdu borrows more and more words from English, the (relatively recent) distinction between "Hindi" and "Urdu" starts to wither away again. The distinction is limited only to the script in this headline, for instance.
In this headline in Urdu, . “Maharashtra Assembly ke Speaker ko Supreme Court ka notice”. all content words are English. 1.Assembly.2.Speaker.3.Supreme .4.Court .5.Notice . -Urdu hasn’t shied away from borrowing words from other languages such as Persian, Arabic, English. #Urdu

Whenever I tell my male friends that they're looking pretty, their first reaction is to ask me if I'm mocking them. Although after assuring them that I mean it, they accept the compliment. Men are so compliment-starved that the default response is distrust. :(.
