In the Smash scene I think it's kind of sad that we have commodified the idea of friendlies. Between money matches and metafy we put a dollar sign on what use to just be sharing knowledge and experience with other players who have the same passion as you.

It's very weird that Colleigate Smash is focused almost entirely on Crew Battles, a format that basically doesn't exist in professional play and is only used for show matches. I can't think of any other college sports program that is like this.

The funniest part about helping out at Diamond Dust was when I was calling top 48 sets and the amount of players just absolutely confused, flabbergasted, blindsided, bemused, befuddled, disoriented, puzzled, flummoxed, by the idea that they had to play a set.

My experience as staff on The Big House really altered my TOing trajectory. As soon as I got a small look into what it's like to be on the top, I immediately decided to give up on the idea of growing my events into something huge like The Big House or Frostbite.

Now that im not a wifi TO anymore here's my gripes:
Lag testing becoming so common place was a mistake. Lag tests are almost always called by sore losers. People act like a few small hitches is the end of the world. Crazy to play on wifi for a year and still have that energy.

I heard the Onin who won Super Smash Con isn't even the same Onin who won GOML, They just happen to use the same tag and play the same character. Super Smash Con was Onin's very first tourney ever. He only signed up as a joke and plays Steve cause he loves Minecraft.

For Get Cooked! 4 we were able to raise $830 dollars for Allen Neighborhood Center and Handheld Food Co. made almost $1.5k on their first ever day of business, giving them a significant start to their dreams of becoming a fully fledged restaurant one day. Thank you all so much!!!
