It's Giving Tuesday❄️! This is the most important day for us this year, so please consider giving or SHARING our fundraiser. :) We empower people in prisons to study math and computer science, meaning your money 🪙 goes to concretely helping incarcerated people on the ground.
Our biggest and more important holiday fundraiser yet!🎄❄️🕯️We have developed an app to allow incarcerated people to program on their tablets. This is part of our mission to allow incarcerated people everywhere to learn math and computer science. https://t.co/oKkyyulX2x

We're up to $300 USD, which allows 5 incarcerated people to learn math for a year! Can we get that to $400? ☃️
It's our ❄️💠🩵WINTER 💠❄️☃️ Holiday fundraiser! We need your donations 🪙 to keep bringing math to incarcerated people. This is the season where we raise enough money to cover mailing costs, π days, and paying our single employee. Support our work today!

If our ʻōhiʻa grow up, they will do profound things: combat climate change, replenish our watersheds, restore biodiversity. Let’s make sure it’s when—not if—for plants like ʻōhiʻa. 🌱 Help our plants grow up: https://t.co/kttb2dgYre

I've gone back and forth with Springer for a month trying to get them to split an article processing charge across two parties. It's the only way my team can afford to cover the cost. Has anyone had a similar experience and can provide advice? #AcademicChatter

This post is about my brother Kono. He would think this story was hilarious. One last prank I randomly came across this post and thought there's no way it's about him The internet's a small place.
If you ever feel like an asshole just know that i called the workplace of a man who didnt pay me for my leatherwork and when i asked them where he was and why he didnt get back to me the lady told me “he was murdered this summer”

Indigenous notions of community often encompass not only people, but place as well. Until academic leaders understand that and shift their hiring culture accordingly, I think we will continue to struggle to increase the representation of Indigenous folks in the academy.

I recently asked a well-meaning and experienced panel, "The common advice is to apply EVERYWHERE. But how can junior researchers successfully navigate the faculty job search when commitments to community restrict their geographic search area?" Their answers were unsatisfactory.
