Watching Shota seeing Counsell come out for him after the first out, fist bump his catcher then glove bump each infielder, before gloving the baseball to Counsell, acknowledging him, then walking off was as perfect example of professionalism on the bump as you'll see.

Not trying to be a doom-and-gloomer, by any means, but the Cubs juju feels like it's off. Like they're all waiting for someone or some moment to shake it and start playing inspired baseball again. Need to get that magic back. It's a long season so I get it but this won't cut it.

This post will always crack me up. She adored you, @Sut_40. We just joked Friday about how, the first time she met you at Spring Training back 1989, she only came up to your waist. We had a good laugh. These are the memories I'll keep close now that she's gone. .
Who’s your mom or dad's all time favorite athlete?. My dad's will always be Ernie Banks and my mom's will always be The Red Baron himself, @Sut_40. To be honest, Sut was probably on her "Five List" along with Barry Manilow and some guy from "General Hospital." 😂

Baseball has always been the tie that binds in my family. In my life. Cubs, especially, but the game itself has built so many bridges beyond that. I've lost my biggest fan. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Your comfort means more than you know. It's appreciated. 🙏.
Sitting next to my mom here in Georgia, who is now in hospice, and watching that Sandberg tribute is overwhelming and comforting at the same time. The mere mention of his name perked her spirits up. She couldn't drive by a baseball card shop without stopping in to buy Ryno cards.

She is no longer in pain and is in the presence of Our Lord. A mother's hug heals some of the hardest moments in life, and it's all I want right now to make the hurt go away. Please keep our family in your prayers during this difficult time. Thank you. ❤️.

With more grief than I can verbalize, I just wanted to share that my Mama peacefully passed away today, surrounded by my Pappy, sister, nephew and niece. I'm blessed to have been able to spend last week with her and to tell her, face to face, how much I love her one last time.
