Who's ready for some rain?! Here is a snapshot of around 11pm-midnight Fri. night: A line of rain & storms moving through ahead of a cold front overnight Fri. will bring periods of heavy rain, with the potential of minor flooding, & the possibility of some strong/severe storms.

We'll get VERY close to seeing our first low in the 50s of the season in Austin (Camp Mabry) tomorrow morning, but will we get there? If so, we will still be nearly a month behind schedule, and later than when we saw our first 50-degree low last year (happened on October 16th)

All aboard the temperature roller coaster! 🎢 After this weekend's front, we have 2 more fronts on the way this week. Friday/Saturday's front will bring the best potential for rain, but for now, that chance is only at a 20-30% chance.

BREAKING: Tropical Storm #Jerry forms in the Central Atlantic. Below is the forecast cone. Jerry is expected to stay away from the United States coast, but interests in the Leeward Islands and Bermuda will need to monitor the forecast closely.

NHC will initiate advisories on Tropical Storm Jerry (formerly AL95), located over the central tropical Atlantic, at 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC).

Tonight's full Harvest Moon is the first supermoon of 2025 AND the first of FOUR consecutive back-to-back supermoons that will span through the start of 2026. Moon viewers delight! 🌝

New drought monitor is out, and it's not looking good. Severe drought has now expanded to include areas along & E. of I-35. This is what we would consider Rapid Onset Drought, or "Flash Drought", as these drought conditions developed over a period of weeks rather than months.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION 7 formed this morning in the Central Atlantic. It is forecast to strengthen into Tropical Storm #Gabrielle later today. Thankfully, we expect this to turn north well before reaching the USA, but Bermuda will need to monitor closely.
