Blount Co, Maryville & Alcoa were yesterday’s @KCS_EPP coaching visit destinations. We pondered Ms Alexander’s new classroom layout, Mr McMurray prepped Ss for the dual enrollment test, Mr Sutton’s ‘Christmas Bakery’ was in full swing, & Ms Dills’ Ss looked at Advanced Directives

Our @KCS_EPP instructor @judy_siebert was out for coaching visits at Fulton HS & Campbell Co HS recently, observing Ms Anderson (Health Sc), Mr Skeans (Crim Just) & Mr Baird (Constr.). In follow up’s, the teachers’ strengths are highlighted & goals set for continuous improvement!

This week’s @KCS_EPP coaching visits happened in Union, Grainger, Cocke and Loudon Counties as well as in Lenoir City. Our candidates teach anything from Business to Welding and are getting our TN kids ready for the workforce! 💚

Attended my first CBExchange Conference this week & am leaving inspired! Higher Ed, K-12, workforce & other experts came together to discuss competency based education in sessions on Employer Partnerships, Talent Management, CTE, AI, Teacher Prep, Apprenticeships & more.

Our 5 @KCS_EPP candidates in Hamblen Co had a coaching visit yesterday and shined: Mr Clark🔨, Mr Waddell 💻, Ms Lamb 🧑‍🍳, Ms Bennett🪮, and Ms Barnett 🩺 Their students work on real-life projects or issues and win at competitions! 👏🏻

Last night, under Culinary teacher Ms Tussey’s initiative, the TN School for the Deaf hosted the 1st annual Grilling Competition! 🎉 Three schools participated, prepping appetizers, main dish 🥘, dessert 🍨 & a drink-judged by industry & school reps. The winners got a trophy 🏆👏🏻

Big topic tonight for Cohort 5: Assessment! @judy_siebert utilizes table discussions and mentimeters to keep the candidates engaged after a long day of teaching in their high schools across the region. 😊

At today’s @KCS_EPP coaching visit to SDHS & AE: Ms Rhodes going over ❤️rhythms, Mr Henry models proper sanding of a 🚙, Mr Huettel’s students check their store’s inventory 🧁 & Mr Ellis prepares his for making 🥗 dressings. Hard to motivate students sometimes but hands-on helps!

It was a beautiful day for a drive to Cocke County and Alcoa for @KCS_EPP coaching visits. Mr Huffhines 📐practiced correct measuring, Ms Owen’s students calculated profits💰, and Ms Dills 🚑showed hers how to use an AED properly. @CockeCoSchools @CTE_Patty

Lenoir City & Loudon Co HSs have 2 new instructors in our @KCS_EPP: Mr Murphy teaches Business & is preparing his students to open a school store. Mr Boyd‘s Digi Arts class produces the daily announcements & started learning abt photoshop today. @LenoirCitySch @loudoncountysch

Today’s @KCS_EPP coaching visits took me to beautiful Blount Co. Ms Alexander assessed her students’ 9 part sectioning & perm ✂️, Mr McMurray’s students built a prop house for Theatre 🏠, and Chef Sutton’s kids made pizza dough-to be covered & baked tomorrow 😋
