Tomorrow, King County Council will proclaim Dec. 25-31 as Boys in the Boat Week in King County in celebration of the feature film adaptation of the story of the historic University of Washington rowing team that went on to win the gold medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

During tomorrow’s special Committee of the Whole meeting at 9:30 a.m., my motion requesting the Executive to explore and make recommendations for potential avenues of redress for historic redlining practices in our region will be up for possible action.

I was pleased to lead my fellow councilmembers in presenting a proclamation of September as National Service Dog Month in King County. We were joined by representatives from Brigadoon Service Dogs, Canine Companions, and a special pup named Atticus who accepted the proclamation.
